Angela an entertainer is lead female vocalists of The Harbor Lights, when she is not performing with “Herb Reed and the Platters”. Angela has been entertaining audiences for years. She has performed in local Gospel groups, theater, musicals and films. Projects include a Beatles film Julie Taymor Project , plays and musicals including Harlem Renaissance performed with a Boston Flavor. Angela partners with William Newton in a duo performing some of the best Rhythm & Blues Music of the past and present. They perform great hits such as Mustang Sally, Wilson Pickett, Whats Love Got To Do With It-Tina Turner, Last Dance-Donna Summer and Only You-The Platters. Ready or not a new Diva is on the rise, and she’s hungry for the spotlight. Straight out of Boston MA. Angela Allen has been singing since the age of 8. Angela’s attraction to the spotlight was first ignited at a family event when she preformed at the age of 13. She “loved the crowd response” and decided to follow her passion for music. She took every form of opportunity that jumped at her. She entered in talent shows, school functions, plays, and anything else that she was able to get involved in. Angela reminisces about watching Tina Turner and Patti Labelle perform on television and how they inspired her to dream”. They inspired me to want it more-to become the greatest stage performer I can be.” Angela also explains, “When I was 10, I would sing myself to sleep at night. I would sing cleaning my room, at the dinner table, in the shower… I didn’t know when to stop.” many times Angela got herself into trouble for singing at her desk in class.” I just wanted people to hear my talent”. Angela unlike some who have the means to attend performance schools to build their performing abilities developed her skills on her own.
